DIY PLAID COAT + MY PROJECT RUNWAY JR. APPEARANCE
Hi Darlings, As I mentioned yesterday I am on the road and have had the worst two days of travel, lol! Cancelled flights, delayed flights etc… but thank goodness I made it safely to my destination. Now let’s talk about this AHH-MAZING DIY coat lol…it’s not as dope as MY coat pattern for Simplicity but it’s a great basic style and great for plaid fabrics because there are no darts, princess seams or center back seams to match… just sides.
My pattern review is below… This fabric was gifted to me so unfortunately I can’t link out anywhere…I did however find some great plaid options HERE and some coating options HERE.
ANNOUNCEMENT! If you missed my post on Instagram yesterday I am going to be making an appearance on TONIGHTS episode of PROJECT RUNWAY JUNIOR! Watch on Lifetime at 9/8c
Pattern Description: M7259 DIY Coat and Detachable Cape
Pattern Sizing: I cut the 8
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? This is a very easy coat pattern, Its just two front, one back cut on the fold, two sleeves and the facing. Then of course you have the lining but it sews up quickly.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the simple lines and since I had this Burberry-esque plaid I wanted something with as little cut lines as possible.
Fabric Used: Plaid Wool Coating
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didn’t make the cape, other than that I had no changes.
Would you sew it again? Yes, I plan to make it again in a solid.
Would you recommend it to others? YES.
