DIY TWO PIECE USING THE OGDEN CAMI & MCCALL 7813 SKIRT
HI DARLINGS! It’s finally starting to cool off here in Los Angeles although that doesn’t mean much because tomorrow it can be 100 degrees again, lol! This was the last summer piece I made before I started sewing my fall plans and I love it so much. I also love that I can wear it through the fall as separates and with a jacket.
I made several changes to the OGDEN CAMI as you can see but I chat about that below. This look is very cool and so comfy and since I wanted to add interest I used the stripes in different ways.
PATTERN INFO & MODIFICATIONS
Ok, tomorrow on my INSTAGRAM I am posting a video to my IGTV where I share the process of making this look so check it out. I basically created a CF seam on the OGDEN CAMI pattern and then created facings since I planned on making it a button front, the buttons are fully functional. I used covered buttons because it just worked so much better than trying to find the right button for this.
Here is a look at the inside front and back facings.
The skirt is
MCCALL 7813 and it’s very easy to sew! It doesn’t “wrap” much so if you move too much it will show more than you want, lol so I used two small snaps along the front to keep things closed.
The fabric is from MOOD, I don’t know what the fabric content is but it is a cotton blend of sorts. I can’t find it online but I was just there and they still had it in store so maybe you can call and reference my post, lol.
